Check out the new Wizards Unite trailers with analysis and intelligent guesses on game mechanics and explanations on the appearances of ‘Golden Snitch’ and mysterious ‘Riderless Nimbus’.
These are two trailers released by the developers which hints how the game will definitely be augmented reality and feature Quidditch elements.
Wizards Unite Video Trailer #1
The Wizards Unite trailer released on November 14, 2018, was a 31-second trailer packed with hints about the game. It didn’t feature gameplay footage, but instead was an announcement trailer most likely pushed to be in theaters for the
Crimes of Grindelwald, which yes, was played before the movie.
In this article we are breaking it down and talking about Things You Missed From the Trailer and possible theories about the game. Lets begin.
The trailer opens with a Ministry of Magic logo inside a triangle and the words Repello Muggletum. This spell repels Muggles and is used for the Quidditch World Cup, is how Hogwarts exists and is used by Harry and Hermione at their campsite in the Deathly Hallows.
Next, we have a logo for the Statute of Secrecy task force. This is a new logo and on the Wizards Unite website, and it says this is a new task force formed in partnership between the Ministry of Magic and International
Confederation of Wizards.
“You are a member of it to which you will sniff out magical disorder from afar.” This sentence suggests that this is the basis of the game. The players of Wizards Unite are part of the task force working for the Ministry to save the Wizarding World from exposure.
So the first thing you might not have noticed is the logo changes to black and white and very, very subtly the lightning bolt used within the logo is the same one that flashes forwards. The next flashing image has the lightning bolt, and Ministry logo darkened. This makes us wonder, could this mean Harry of Ministry?
This may be a nod to the “lightning fast wand reflexes” you possess.. but our theory is that Harry probably is in the task force too. After all, Harry Potter does become an Auror after Hogwarts and according to the Wizard Unite website this game IS set after You-Know-Who which is Voldemort!
Perhaps another hint at this theory, is that we then have the ticking clock going from green to yellow to red. This is based off the same clock from Fantastic Beasts that shows the magical exposure threat level indicating that green is safe, and red is an emergency.
Followed by a black & white snitch, logos, flashing lightning bolt and the same logo as earlier but this time with the spell being verified by Contance Pukennay or Dukennay? No matter what it is, it is definitely not a name we are familiar with at the moment.
In the next scene, a golden snitch comes flying in and stops right in front of the security camera and almost as if checking to see if it’s recording and then it goes flying off and breaks a window.
A female wizard apparates in and you may not have noticed something move in the bottom left corner. Here it is again and slowed down now this could easily just be debris of some kind, but I almost wonder if it’s an Occamy.
Also, if you listen extremely closely you may hear a small purr that sounds like one. Could we be expecting Occamy pets in Wizards Unite? HYPE!
After the female wizard catches the snitch and seems happy about it, we hear a loud noise that sounded like a roar. She becomes nervous and looks up which indicates that whatever she sees is really or flying.
So far the popular theory is that it’s a dragon but even though the ground isn’t shaking, there are thumps afterward that sound to me like walking. She puts up a poster saying “The Wizarding World is at Risk of Exposure. We Need Your Help”
Next to observe here is the female wizard’s outfit. It’s modern clothing and she’s wearing a backpack which is not typical wizard wear. This implies that perhaps Wizard Unite players will be collecting some kind of items which is familiar territory to Niantic’s Pokemon GO.
Interesting graffiti was observed on the side of the ticket booth. Why is there is a lightning bolt etched on the side of the ticket booth? Could this be yet another hint that Harry is in the Ministry with us?
Lastly, these are not hidden like the previous ones, but the numbers and letters in the corners are probably the most intriguing thing to think about within the trailer. The top left corner switches back and forth between cameras 2 and 4
The top right corner has the initials CTFID which stands for Configuration Tool For Imaging Devices… basically a security camera. The bottom left corner is a timestamp starting at 15:11 and counting upwards.
One theory is that the numbers are in military time which would mean 3:11 instead of 15:11. So like the woman appears at 3:11, perhaps the game will appear on March 11th.

Wizards Unite Video Trailer #2
The second video trailer shows that magic items such as a Riderless Nimbus will cause havoc in the Wizards Unite world of wizardry. Moreover, we noticed the ‘Threat Level’ icon which provides the measure of threat the magic entity has, and also the ‘Registry’ which classifies it accordingly.
We believe that the game will require users to destroy these ‘magic entities’ such as the ‘Riderless Nimbus’ (as featured in the video) for completion of quests.
